Im surprised (and pleased) to read this from this source. Some years ago at a conservative/libertarian meeting, I was less than delighted to hear Krannawitter say that monotheism was a prerequisite for belief in rights, liberty, etc. Even trying hard to be charitable... thats just not even a remotely plausible view for a serious intellectual to hold. Perhaps he still holds that view, but at least he doesnt think that Christianity itself justifies liberty. I can understand ordinary people thinking that, given the outright lies that are often peddled about the supposed fervent religiosity of the founding fathers. However, for people familiar with the actual writings of those men, not to mention the governments of Christian Europe over more than a millennia, thats an unsupportable view... and he does a nice job of dismantling it here.
