Im surprised, but it looks like Oklahoma voters still have SOME sense left! The Republican primary saw the sitting State School Superintendent beat by a wide margin. This is the woman whos only claim to re-election was that she CUT school funding! On the downside, GOP voters gave Gov. Mary Fallin the nomination again, in spite of her dreadful job performance, and they turned out in droves to support Sen. Jim Inhofe, handing him 87% of the vote. The bad news is that the Republican nomination virtually assures election in November. Take the race for US Senator, for instance. Inhofe ALONE pulled more voters than all 3 Democratic candidates combined! Oklahoma has some smart, very nice people. But, theyre voting the party, not the candidate, and so long as they do that, no Democrat has an ice cubes chance in hell of winning anything. For that matter, no candidate really interested in serving The People, rather than corporations, has a chance. Poor Oklahoma. Blinded by the God and Conservative rhetoric of the GOP which fosters division, hatred, prejudice and bigotry, while hiding the real agenda of corporate toadyism, theyre voting against their own self interest and turning the Sooner State into the Koch brothers own, personal Nirvana.
