Im tired of the BS and want to vent some so here it goes. Everyone complains about jobs and training and Congress just continues as always. Well maybe we need to begin to begin the conversation here. I believe the US must change how we educate our kids; first we must continue with K through 10 education but when they get to the end of the 10th grade a decision must be made. If the child has the ability to go on to college and actually gain a degree that they can use, they should be placed in a college prep program where the training will stress college level courses. Those who realize they may not be cut out for college will choose a technical course that they will train in splitting school work with practical hands on training. The teachers for this level of training will be active and retired workers from the fields being trained many of them coming from unions that know the requirements states require for licensing. After completing high school level training those in technical training will move on to an apprenticeship where they go to classes for 4 hours a day and then work with a contractor the rest of an 8 hour day. They will be paid as an apprentice at the going rate for the region and the employer will be able to take the cost of having this trainee on their payroll out of their taxes at the end of the year at 100% of cost. After 5 years as an apprentice the individual will graduate as a journeyman and the employer can hire them into their company or release them to another contractor and bring on another apprentice. The federal government always complains about companies leaving their profits overseas not bring them home to invest here. Well the solution for this is to allow companies to return this money taxing it at a rate of 10% which the federal government will use to fund the training program discussed above. The funds returned to the companies must be used to fund expansion of their company to bring back jobs to the US, train the new workers coming out of these training programs and exporting our products to the world. A true capitalist economy works towards profit for the company and its share holders as well as looking towards the future expanding the company, creating new products, researching new technology, and paying workers for their effort for the company. The government needs to support this by reducing taxes allowing companies to make the most of their talent taxing consumption of the products sold in country and around the world. Allowing the companies and their workers to maintain their earnings to invest for their future. Consumption will increase as people earn more money for their labor, and countries around the world will want our products because they will be the best in the world. Anything else will keep us in the situation we are presently in and we will crawl along as we are wasting money on new programs to end poverty, and spending money on education programs that teach our kids nothing. Our country will continue to fall below those who are making the necessary changes to move ahead. Poverty in this country will not end until we make these changes and we will always be a 2nd class nation if we continue to lie to ourselves thinking we are so great!!!
