Im tired of the misuse of Occams Razor by faith groups as a means of denying prevailing scientific views. Occams Razor is not the principle of whatever is easier to believe - its about avoiding the multiplication of entities and root causes. Ive encountered it a few times, but heres an example: the Flat Earth Society says that Occams Razor supports the idea that the Earth and the Sun are fundamentally different than anything in existence, because its easier to believe - ie. simpler. In fact, thats a multiplication of entities. Occams Razor is in support of the Earth being the same kind of thing as Mars and Venus and the Sun being the same kind of thing as the stars.
