Im up about to start my day. Its raining so I have to go to the wash house to wash my clothes for the show. I was thinking, thinking about the start of this 3 week journey. It really began January 26th or 27th when Rome Neal told me, You have to put your show up for three weeks. I was like, Do you know how much work that is going to be? After some grumbling, I figured if Rome tells you to do something stop fighting and just do it! I emailed Jason Quiñones and Eli Anchicanoy and they helped me secure the dates. I wanted to do the show after my last class for my MSW, but not too soon after the class. I was walking around with an extra 15 pounds on my frame from studying and eating in the bed. Long story short, July 10th-July 27th became the dates for the run and I started working out regularly in June 3 to 5 times a week, working full-time, and finishing up my last MSW class. Long story short, today is my last show. It was SO worth every sacrifice made! Most people dont know how hard it is to do a one person show, but trust me when I say, It aint easy. I was constantly worried about getting sick or catching a cold from someone. I couldnt hang out, I couldnt eat this, I couldnt eat that.... Now, Im back down to a size 8 and I have met soooooooo many wonderful people this run. From theater folks to casting agents. From social workers to college professors and I learned who really had my back. Maybe that is the most important thing. Knowing who you can count on and who you really need to, as my Daddy would say, Let be. Ten Days of CRAZY! The Return of Diary of A Mad Social Worker!
