Im watching the Hunger Games sequel. Weird seeing Philip Seymour Hoffman alive. I hate cynicism. I hate cynical, dystopian movies like this. The thing to do is not to pretend to be intellectually superior and cynical and pretend that the powers-that-be hold sway over us. That is BS. Courageous people tell the truth. The tea party told the truth. We deserve to be in charge of our lives. We cannot let corrupt players play with us. Last night I watched American Hustle, a semi-historical movie. It tells the story of an attempt to catch corrupt politicians. Abscam did catch some bad guys. It scared the rest of the crooks. But nowadays when they catch criminal politicians, they just let them go. How can we just turn our heads?
