Im working on a piano solo piece. In its middle section I go into the key of C#, yet Ive been advised to use the key of Db to make it easier to read. My reasoning for using C# is that the middle section is very dramatic and a sharp key gives a more dramatic conotation than a flat. Scriabin used D# minor in his étude no 12 rather than Eb minor to enhance the dramatic tone of the piece. Should I use the sharp or the flat key? Thanks!
