Important announcement on Kashmir soon: Sartaj Aziz Islamabad: Special Advisor to Prime Minister on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that “dictation” of India over Kashmir issue is unacceptable and new and solid message regarding Kashmir issue would be given to the world including New Delhi soon. In an interview, Sartaj Aziz said if Kashmir is not an issue then why 0.7 million soldiers have been deployed in Kashmir and holding guns on each other at LOC. “Pakistan will not sit silent until Kashmir issue is resolved,” he added. He said when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif went to India to attend oath-taking ceremony of Indian Prime Minister, relations between two countries were discussed but the issue of Kashmir was off the table due to India’s stubbornness. He said, however, Pakistan cannot ignore Kashmiris and would move forward for negotiations. Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan will not accept the superiority of India and would continue highlighting the Kashmir Issue worldwide. “Our Parliament is taking important decisions over Kashmir issue and within few days world including India would receive a tough message,” he said. Later, speaking on a resolution in the National Assembly on cross-LoC firing, Aziz said Pakistan was fully alive to the situation along LoC and the international border and was capable of defending its people and frontiers. He said the government had taken various steps on diplomatic front to protect Pakistans interests, besides raising the matter at international fora. He said Indian deputy high commissioner was also summoned at the Foreign Office and lodged a strong protest against unprovoked Indian firing at the LoC and the Working Boundary. He said a letter was also written to the UN secretary general, besides a briefing to the ambassadors of five permanent members of UN Security Council about the situation. The adviser said delegations comprising the parliamentarians and the retired ambassadors were being sent to other countries to apprise them about human rights violations in Jammu Kashmir and along the LoC. Sartaj said that not only the Foreign Office and the government, but the whole nation should also raise their voice on the issue. He said that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiri people and UN resolutions. Responding to a statement of the Indian defence minister, Sartaj Aziz said that the capability of Pakistan army should not be underestimated.
