Important information about data sharing to help provide better care for patients. The NHS can use confidential patient data from medical records in order to plan and improve the services offered. Clinical codes that indicate a piece of clinical information such as you being on our asthma or diabetic registers for instance, will be extracted as well as your date of birth, postcode, NHS number, and gender (but not your name) will be used to link your records with other health information in a secure environment. Patients are not identified in using the data. You have a choice… if you have any concerns or wish to prevent this from happening then please speak to a member of practice staff.
