Important news for all dog owners in the Everton Park area: There have been a large number of cases of upper respiratory infections in dogs in our area over the past 3 weeks. These infections typically result in symptoms such as coughing, retching, sneezing, a runny nose and/or a hoarse bark. Mostly these are viral infections that are highly contagious to other dogs, and while the C5 vaccination (containing the kennel cough vaccine) does generally provide some protection against this type of infection, it is not 100% and unfortunately some vaccinated dogs have been affected. We would encourage all of our clients to be aware, and if your dog is showing these signs, contact us to arrange an appointment. Affected dogs should be isolated from other dogs for at least 2 weeks, so if your dog has been unwell, let them take it easy and recover, and stay away from the dog park for a few weeks!
