Important please read**** It is very important the you read and understand what I am about to say. I receive multiple messages per week as do many of you, either from people with a cause needing donations or complaints of being solicited for donations for a cause. This became very frustrating to me because I and LIZ, love to give and support the needs in the community but I did not feel it was sustainable to ask the network everyday to give money. Nor is it sustainable for us to promote each cause individually. All that does is make us the unwanted communicator with a handout for money, Unfortunately the nonprofits and causes have their hands tied because not enough people give to meet the needs of an aching community. So we created an answer to this and now I need you to do your part so that you can BE THE CHANGE THAT YOU WANT TO SEE. These are the facts: 1) The community has needs and those needs require money and time 2) YOU will live in a better place along with your children if those needs get met 3) The nonprofits, charities and causes are forced to ask because many of us do not take the initiative to give 4) the same group of people give while the same group sits on the sidelines. We created LIZ Gives to address these issues without ever taxing anyone or reaching into the network to ask for donations or time. LIZ Gives is just getting started but soon will have a dedicated portal full of resources and a calendar. If you want to see a change in the way that donations are currently solicited then help us facilitate the change. On Tuesday at Mai Thai Restaurant we have charitable dining. This is just a very humble beginning but I promise you it will impact our community in a big way because we have set our intention and committed to its success. PLEASE do not complain to me or anyone if you are being solicited regularly for donations if you are not willing to be part of the solution. 2300 people in this group could make a huge difference by participating in charitable dining. I love each of you and I am asking you to help me to help you to help them and put an end to the lack.
