In 18 days my hubby is eligible to retire from the USSS. It has been quite the 20 years. He traveled to nearly every country in the world, some multiple times, hes had amazing experiences and met many amazing people. He worked with all recent and past living Presidents, his favorite being Ford. He received many awards for his duty. We have friends coast to coast. Early in his career he traveled over 230 days/year. Some trips took him away for a few months like the Salt Lake City Olympics. The kids grew up at the White House back when we could take anyone in for tours, we enjoyed the Secret Service Holiday White House events. The kids and I met many Presidents and their dogs. We spent 11 Christmases and summers in Jackson, WY with Cheney. We enjoyed trips from Kennebunkport to Beaver Creek. James missed almost every single Thanksgiving at home. He also missed Graduations, Confirmations and Jimmy moving to College. They decided to transfer him back to DC in his last 3 years of his career. We chose what was best for our family and lived apart. His career required many sacrifices by all of us but the USSS doesnt care about that. He has 27 years of government servIce with 7 years in the Marine Corps. He recently made 11 certification lists for awesome Federal jobs here in the metro area and we are now simply waiting for his new career to start. We cant wait to all be together again!! We are very proud of his career and his amazing accomplishments!
