In 1862, on this very day, our forefather’s stayed up on what was called “watch night” waiting to hear the news of the Emancipation Proclamation to be signed by President Lincoln..........years later, As we MARCH into 2015, we must learn from whats behind...our history....our past… AND be purposeful and hopeful for whats ahead. Our voting rights have been questioned, some trampled…the safety of our youth/ our kids/our babies have been wavered. We as a nation, have been brought from SO much and yet we must NOT give up fore we still have a little ways to go. Take a journey with me for a moment....Cambridge defines a march as to walk with regular steps of EQUAL length with people who are all walking the same way, to walk quickly with PURPOSE and DETERMINATION. WE MUST STAND TOGETHER! Let’s learn from our failures and our history. We have had trials and tribulations in 2014, yet we MUST build on our victories! We must do this together, shoulder to shoulder! I’ve heard the term to never look back however I’m a believer that sometimes we must look back to see how far we have come. You see, when traveling up what appears to be mountain, sometimes we must look back at times when we get exhausted or think about giving up, to see how far we have come and to let us know that what’s behind us lies in a far greater distance that what’s ahead of us…WE MUST MARCH ON! Wishing you into a Happy and Productive New Year!!! #AHOD #Blacklivesmatter#notamomentbutamovement
