In 1984 the NFR (National Finals of Rodeo) was faced with an interesting choice. The city of Las Vegas had decided to make a strong bid to move the rodeo there, away from its longtime home of Oklahoma City. Presentations were made, and on December 12, 1984, almost exactly 30 years ago, the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) voted 5-5 on the issue at their headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
