In 2010 I spent a year living in Chile, where I developed a beginners interest in latin american pop and alternative music. Thanks to Chilean friends, I discovered stuff that was way more interesting than Manu Chao, way more poptastic than Shakira and some of the stuff I heard Id literally never heard anything like it. When I got back to Australia and started delving more deeply into stuff and getting really excited, I very quickly learned none of my friends here really could give two shits about music in Spanish or Portuguese - and fair enough I guess. So I decided to make a radio show instead, in the hopes that someone out there in radio land would dig exploring the alternative and popular music from a cultural and linguistic world with over 600 million people . If this sounds like your bag, like this page and tune in tonight at midnight on 3CR (855AM in Melbourne, 3CR digital, or streaming at 3cr.org.au) Im back on air after a 6 month hiatus.
