In 2013 269 women and their more than 300 children spent at least one night at the YWCA Sheriff King Home emergency shelter, fleeing from family violence. The goal of the YWCA Sheriff King Home emergency shelter is to provide safety and security and then to establish a transition plan to ensure safety and security can become a regular way of life. Im asking you to help women and kids take those first steps away from family violence. Please make a donation to the YWCA through Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. The link to my fundraising page is below. Thursday Ill be walking in heels around Olympic Plaza with other men whove stepped up to make a difference. Remember, the abuse isnt always as graphic or obvious as a Ray Rice video. Its a complex issue, but we can help protect women and their kids by offering a way out. Thanks for your support Doug (size 13s) Veronelly support.ywcaofcalgary/site/TR/Events/WalkaMile?px=1009116&pg=personal&fr_id=1060
