In 2013, the Trail’s End Popcorn Sale infused Scouting programs across the Tukabatchee Area Council with over $55,000 in funding to local Packs, Troops, and Crews, plus all the prizes and awards for your Scouts. Units that participate in the popcorn sale have higher quality program, recruit and retain more youth, and have greater opportunity to experience the Ideal Year of Scouting. In addition to providing Unit financial stability to address program needs, the sale also provided the Tukabatchee Area Council nearly $52,000 to support Scouting. Popcorn Sale proceeds allow the Council to continue to provide vital leader/youth program services and facility support at Camp Tukabatchee and Camp Dexter Hobbs that, without popcorn, would otherwise either result in additional costs being directly passed on to Units and parents, or we would simply have to do without. New for 2014, as a result of Unit feedback, we are offering an expanded Unit Product Show and Sell this year, to supplement the Take-Order Sale so units may sell at local storefronts. The Show and Sell can add an additional 30-40% of sales, if marketed correctly. Please note, Take-Order is by far your primary avenue to popcorn success. Contact the council office or message us here for the Order Request Form with information, guidelines, and deadlines regarding ordering product for the Show and Sell. In addition to this enhancement, there are several exciting new products and package design changes that you requested, which will further enhance this year’s sale. Our product line for 2014 will include 16 product options and 3 “Support Our Military” options. And once again, a great prize program is in place to help motivate your Scouts! Council Units that sell Popcorn and conduct a Family Friends of Scouting presentation qualify as an “Honor” unit, and will not have a camp camping usage fee. Those that do not qualify will incur the standard $3/person per day camp fee for weekend use of Camp Tukabatchee or Camp Dexter Hobbs Show and Sell orders are due no later than Wednesday, August 6, at 12:00pm. Please be sure to attend our Council Program Preview and Popcorn Kickoff, on Tuesday, August 5th, 6:30pm, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, on Vaughn Road!
