In Gods eyes there is only one way to be perfect and thats to have absolutely NO sin in your life. Thats the only way we can get to Heaven. Its impossible, however, for us to go through life without committing sin. Only one person has ever, and will ever do that. But we, Gods children, can be viewed as perfect in the sight of God. When people talk about being perfect it can be misinterpreted by some so let me try to paint a picture. All the sin you and I have on our lives...past, present, and future, was put on Jesus Christ at the cross in exchange for His righteousness! Its called the great exchange! For God made Christ, who NEVER sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21) Now all of us can stand before God perfect not because we never commit sin but because all of our sin is covered under the Blood of Jesus Christ!! All we need to do is believe in His FINISHED work!! Remember Jesus also said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father EXCEPT THROUGH ME.
