In Jesus’s Name I greet you friends, trusting that I find you all in good health. We being part of the Global Adventist Youth will step out of church to be the sermon this coming Sabbath. Thank you for your ever loyal participation in both inreach and outreach programs of our church. Marathon Informal Settlement which has always caught our eye every time we think of Evangelism will have our attention again this Sabbath. With the help of the Dorcas Leadership and Mom Nonesa who is a social worker and closely works with the Marathon Community, four families who are in dire need of food parcels have been identified. We have met with the families and they will gladly open their doors for us. An hour will be dedicated to each family, more than handing out food parcels we will also share spiritual food. They have prayer requests that we will take to the throne, be ready to minister in both songs and prayers.. Below is a draft of how we’ll run the program in each home: Introductions Two songs Opening Prayer The Word One song Prayer Session Handing of food parcels One song Closing Prayer Vote of Thanks NB – Our Music Leader Kenny Mwithwa will select the songs we’ll sing so that we sing those songs that will bear relevance and minister to the very need. He will work with the choristers of the day in achieving that The “Be the sermon”t-shirts are ready for collection and for those who could not forward their monies, I will be at the Conference again tomorrow morning. Please arrange that the cash gets to me tonight or latest tomorrow morning before 8am. Let us all meet at church on Sabbath in our beautiful bright yellow t-shirts. Grey skirts for the gents and grey skirts for the ladies. I do realise that there are some who might not manage to buy the t-shirts, please feel free to wear your AY/Ambassador Uniform, that way we will achieve uniformity. To my beautiful ladies, please wear comfortable flat shoes, with these rains the place is very muddy, high heels are a NO NO this Sabbath We will walk to Marathon and the leaving time is 08H30 Sharp. Looking at the time allocated for each family, I see us having visited all families by 14H00 as the homes aren’t too far apart. Then we will proceed to the branch to do a short presentation on what the morning experience was like. Immediately after we’ll walk back to the mother church where we will do the same presentation, we’ll probably be close to vesper time. That will then mark the end of our Global Youth Day!! Your fervent prayers friends, the Lord will work through us and those families will know of our only God in heaven, who is familiar with our sufferings, who loves them too..
