In Key Club, I was always taught to give back, to build my home, - TopicsExpress

In Key Club, I was always taught to give back, to build my home, school and community. However, what about building yourself? What about growing up and being a kid? Key Club forced me to grow up, and a little too quickly. I dont regret Key Club, but I do regret the missed school dances, football games and nights with friends. I regret always rushing through high school from club meeting to Kiwanis Meeting and service project and not focusing on friends and family or even myself. I regret my sweatpants days that I slept through classes because I had stayed up too late working on that newsletter or on that conference call. I regret not taking time for Katie. I fell in love with Key Club and I dont regret the lessons it taught me, friendships it gave me or what I did within the organization, but I regret the time it took from me, that is time that I cannot get back. Life is not about one thing, one job, one person or one event. Life is about variety, having lots of experiences in lots of realms. The secret of happiness is variety, but the secret of variety, like the secret of all spices, is knowing when to use it. -Daniel Gilbert
