In October there will be the 600th anniversary of the Union of Hrodlo. For Lithuania, one of the last holdouts of paganism in Europe, a process of transformation was already underway. But Poland and Lithuania together would hold a great chunk of territory and reach great heights. By the end of the 15th Century, its bicameral Sejm was meeting regularly. These countries had been coherent nations for a good deal longer than many who would become powers later on.
