In Politics there are no perpetual friends or enemies, only permanent Interests. The most important ingredient to a successful political career is figuring out who you are as a person first. Then align you personal convictions to a philosophical ideology. And then join a political party that agrees with your beliefs. You should only engage someone in a political debate in order to explain, define and defend your beliefs (interests). Politicians who dont know who they are often change direction with the wind. The Bible says in first Corinthians 14:8 if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle. Be clear and steadfast in what you believe in. You must never attack anyone personally. Your discussion must always be about the interests. Always defend your beliefs with respect because its not the person you are opposed to, its their beliefs(political ideology) you dont agree with.
