In Romania, I often walk in a shop and the (not so) gracious woman - TopicsExpress

In Romania, I often walk in a shop and the (not so) gracious woman there supposed to sell me something seems bothered. I clearly feel I ruined her day. In The Netherlands, its quite the opposite: I am often met with such incredible excitement, that I could almost believe that for the woman in front of me, seeing my face is the best thing she were hoping for this month and that selling me a sandwich is her mission in life. Occasionally, the happiness is so great that I see no other explanation than the possibility that we might have met before. A moment of analysis tells me this is not the case. Anyway, cannot decide whether I prefer the bothered face or the absolute happiness. Both are so so so awkward. And while the bothered face seems easy to ignore, this plastic excitement is so exhausting...
