In Word if that is easier Dear Neighbour, I am writing to you on behalf of the Committee of Malmesbury Victoria Football Club to invite you as a near neighbour of the Flying Monk Ground to comment on our fundraising plans for 2015 and to also let us know how we can try to minimise where possible any disruption that our events may cause you. As I am sure you are aware there has been a football club on the Flying Monk Grounds for over 40 years and until the last few years we had managed to cope with the occasional flooding of the ground. However the sustained flooding in 2013 caused significant problems and had an extremely negative impact on the club’s finances. In fact the situation was so bad that the club very nearly ceased to operate at the beginning of this year and was unsure if it would be able to fulfil its league commitments for the remainder of the 2013/14 season. However with the support of the local community and a number of fundraising activities earlier this year the club survived, and entered 3 teams into local leagues for the 2014/15 season as well running a ladies team. We are now in the process of planning are fundraising programme for 2015 and want to consult with you our near neighbours to ensure you are aware of the events we are planning and have an opportunity to comment on them so that where possible we can minimise any disruption to you. We are aware that some of our events this year may have disturbed you and would like to apologise for any inconvenience we may have caused, but without these events which were organised at fairly short notice the Club would not have survived. The Club prides itself on being very community focussed and works hard to try and put on events that have a broad community appeal and are as accessible as possible. This theme will continue in 2015 and we would be very grateful for your comments on our draft fundraising programme. At present the main fundraising events in our 2015 calendar are as follows; Beer Festival Fri 22nd May 2015 - 3pm to 11pm. Music stops at 10.00pm Sat 23rd May 2015 -12pm to 11pm. Music stops at 10.00pm Sun 24th May 2015 - 12pm to 10.30pm. Music stops at 9.00pm Vic Fest Fri 3rd July 2015 - 6pm to 11pm. Music stops at 10.00pm Sat 4th July 2015 - 12pm to 11pm. Music stops at 10.00pm Malmesbury Carnival Dance Sat 5th September 2015 - 12pm to 11pm. Music 7.00pm to 11.00pm To be confirmed 2 x further events which will finish no later than 11.00pm To help us understand your views about our the above proposals and the management of Malmesbury Victoria Football Club, we would be grateful if you could complete the questionnaire attached to this letter and return to us in the stamp address envelope as soon as possible. We would like to invite the neighbours to nominate a representative to join our committee, if you feel that would help with communication. I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to give us your feedback and hope that by working together and communicating more effectively we can minimise any inconvenience the Football Club may cause you and that the Club can continue to develop as a community focussed football club. Yours Sincerely Phil Exton Chairmen Malmesbury Vic FC Malmesbury Victoria FC – Neighbour Questionnaire Q1, Would you be willing to attend a meeting to discuss the issues you have had with events at the Football Club?
