In a big upset to Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, the Supreme Court ruled 7-2 to overturn Arizona’s efforts to add proof of citizenship requirements to voter registration forms. The majority opinion–written by Justice Scalia–says that states cannot graft additional requirements on federal forms used to register voters. Please, sign a thank you note to the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona for bringing this case all the way to the Supreme Court and winning a key victory in the Republican War on Voting.
