In a country that is no stranger to institutional incapability, - TopicsExpress

In a country that is no stranger to institutional incapability, the blunder of the Ethiopian Football Federation, as costly as it is, should not come as a total surprise. Recall that Ethiopia is home to "Tele" and "Mebrathayel". Had there been a competition on organizational inefficiency, there is little doubt that these two government monopolies will easily come on top. We are being overly critical of the Ethiopian Football Federation here. I actually think the Federation people have handled the scandal reasonably well. They have acknowledged their mistake and issued a quick public apology. Can you mention me any other Ethiopian institution that has issued a public apology for its mistake this quickly? My only misgiving about the Federation people is how they tried to implicate Minyahel. They should have left Minhayel out of it. While pushing for a meaningful reform in the way the Federation runs its business, I think it is time for us, the fans, to move on. The focus should be on the do or die away game against Central African Republic.
