In a major relief to over one lakh contractual workers, the government also put a stop on removal of temporary employees working in various departments till the process of recruitment based on new criteria is not completed. The high-level 13-member committee is being headed by Chief Secretary S K Srivastava and comprises of two retired IAS officers, Prakash Chandra and Prafful Karketa, besides secretaries of finance, law and urban development departments among others. The committee has been given the responsibility formulate the policy in this regard within one month.
