In a press conference yesterday afternoon, Chief of Police Cranberry declined to give details on the investigation into the slaying of unpopular scone Strawberry Flax. What I can say, the long time chief said wearily, is that this appears to be a crime of passion by someone known to the victim and not a random act. Neighboring scones have no reason to fear for their own safety. The chief went on to confirm that there is security footage from the scene of the crime (the counter). Other sources have indicated that police have also seized security footage from the freezer and the oven, where Strawberry Flax was reportedly seen earlier in the day. A source who wished to remain nameless described a grisly crime scene with crumbs and flax seeds strewn violently across the counter. This source indicated that police are investigating three to four other scones, known to be acquaintances of the victim, though Police Chief Cranberry would not confirm if his department had identified any suspects.
