In a time when the world is in turmoil, Godliness must abound. At an engagement on this past Saturday, I was asked “What is the biggest problem in the world today?” My answer was quick and to the point, “the fighting among Christians and their beliefs is the biggest single reason for the church not winning the lost.” Yes, some are getting saved every day, but not the numbers that should be. Are we spending our time talking to others about the Lord Jesus, or are we spending time pulling down people who may view scripture with more revelation than you have at this time. Before you attack do you take the time to study and pray about the error you think you see? The Bible talks about the seeing clearly; Luke 6:41 and why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brothers eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Surely we need to adjust our focus onto what God wants us to do and that is to seek and save the lost. Since I made that statement on Saturday I have heard and witness trauma and tragedy in these past few days. The beating of good Christian still goes on in church splits that leave pain and betrayal, good soldiers in the Lord whipped and stripped while doing well. The lost lying on their death beds with no one to go and share the good news of Christ. Mat 9:37-38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. My prayer is that we put this petty strife between the people that profess Jesus as Lord and do the work that has been commanded in Mark 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Also in Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. I left this scripture in red so you know that it is the Lord Jesus who commanded these orders. So I pray that we get to the work of the Father; Father I pray that this falls on good ground, that the eyes of our understanding is being enlighten to know your truth, your heart as it pertains to what we are to be about doing. Lord send laborers into the hospitals and nursing homes to share the love and message of Jesus to those with limited time left here. Help them make the transition from a world that sin abounds to a sin free life in your son Jesus. And Lord I pray for the lost that as we individually meet them that we take the time and effort and that love you put in us to share the good news of Jesus the Christ with them and that they too will be saved. Now Father, help those soldiers how have been wounded by infighting and betrayal, church splits and ignorance. Heal their wounds and restore them to their rightful place so they will soldier on in you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
