In a world that, on so many levels, seems to have been sucked dry of family-tradition...Sunday suppers...evening meals together...a time before latchkey kids and ALL the changes that have, due to the ever-changing demands of society, set in... it is all the MORE important to hold true and hold dear to the family-values and traditions you treasure When it comes down to the core of our very existence, faith, family and the family values that we adhere to are the only things that truly matter in our lives; and, although the passage of time may bring about changes that impact on these... to let them go, altogether, and recede into the background of societys dictates and mandates seems so sad. These days it is all the more necessary to keep with tradition, to whatever degree one can, and maintain a foothold in familiar family festivities when and if it is possible to do so; for it appears these days that there is now, more than ever, due to the uncertainties of life, a need for a re-connection to things familiar, a demand for a MUCH necessary resurgence in the importance of core-values, as well as a reminder as to what the cornerstone of ones life is based and built upon. When there exists a deficiency of such...well...it would seem that world statistics sort of speak for themselves, wouldnt it? I know that I, frequently, come from a place that embraces the old-ways and a past time and place that seemed so much simpler and SAFER. Am I being naive to imagine, that, simply, because I wasnt AWARE of the horrors that may have existed back then that life was that much better than it is today? Im not so sure; BUT...what I DO know is that I was given a GREAT foundation upon which to grow and a goodly part of this was in the traditions which my family practiced...with SO much of this being quality-time spent together with one another. When we forget the importance of clinging to the basic beliefs that keep us grounded we may lose sight, too, of who we are. If We dont use our values, we will lose our values ...and, sometimes ourselves, as well, along the way. Just Sayin...
