In addition to destroying derp and drinking heavily.... today Im working on a project I came up with... basic idea? Lets make going to the Mun (Moon) as boring and hum-drum as humanly possible. Lets make it ORDINARY! --- so... Step 1 was building a space station around my homeworld. Then attaching a ton of fuel to it. Then I built a Space Train named Agamemnon shown in the first and second images. This is a Puller design heavy hauler with nuclear engines. It is currently draggin around a nuclear powered science lander. The third image is the Core of the Daedelus station that is en route to Munar orbit. After both craft (which are flying out together, about an hour apart) are in 20km orbits, Ill dock the train with the station, move the lander to the side away from the docking ring on the station, and then use the train to make trips back and forth between Kerbin and the Mun, carrying science load data, crew, and fuel back and forth as needed. The lander stays in orbit around the Mun where it can drop down to gather data anytime I want. The only maintenance required? Standardized fuel launches to resupply my home station, and then simply picking up fuel when I drop off science at home. An array of Escape pods are being built as we speak to bring that data from the Kerbin station (Dauntless). I feel so productive today :)
