In another article I read that Trayon had been saving for the belt for a long time and was super happy to finally have the money. And then the police asked where he GOT the money. I sometimes wonder how my life would be different, how my experience of privilege would be different, if I looked more like what Americans perceive Latinas to look like. Though with regard to shopping, since I frequent secondhand stores far more than department stores, maybe not a lot. But I imagine my experience would be different in other areas.
