In commemorating todays UNSC declared day of International Peace, Id like to extend a moment of thought and consideration to every Lebanese citizen and stateless Syrian refugees enduring immense hardships and social injustices beyond the comprehension of any humanitarian and human rights standpoint. The path to National and International peace must come from within each person changing our own internal compasses -fathoming an inner attitude premised on more understanding, compassion, dialogue and acceptance towards our fellow humanity. When governments maintain an attitude of no respect for implementation and enforcement of human rights laws, it becomes crucial to adopt a global and social responsible mentality -irrespective of bad governance. Thats in our imminent interests in order to sustain the wellbeing of our lands and people. The path to peace is indeed one fret with immense struggle; however, this struggle can be alleviated from within, by each making a pledge to fight against egregious violations of human rights. We all have a voice so lets use it! ✌️
