In debates, dominated by north-Indians, over Uniform Civil Code or on eating habits of Indians, we often ignore the rich diversity of our country and its people. Moreover, in all such debates the barrel always appears directed at the minorities. Joydeep Hazarika, an Assamese ‘caste Hindu’ and a self proclaimed liberal right winger who has a penchant for non-vegetarian items, here writes how he not only loves beef, but has tried even dog meat as well as snake.
