In early February of this year myself and others talked to - TopicsExpress

In early February of this year myself and others talked to Minnesota state legislators, both Democrat and Republican, about the continued level of violence that we direct care staff are confronted with in our work with the Mentally Ill & Dangerous patients here at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center. Those legislators sincerely expressed how tired they are of hearing that this is still going on. I apologize then for having to tell you that since February over 30 more staff have been injured due to assault by patient or in attempting to stop a patient engaging in violent behavior. We are well on pace to match the record setting year we had last year when over 100 staff were injured because of assaultive or violent behavior of our patients. How is this okay or acceptable?
