In honor of breast cancer awareness, instead of a no makeup picture, I changed my profile picture to a picture of me breastfeeding. Full term breastfeeding (meaning into toddlerhood and beyond) is one powerful way to decrease not only MY breast cancer risk, but also my daughters chances of cancer. Studies have shown that breastfeeding decreases my risk for developing breast cancer, uterine cancer and cervical cancer significantly for every year I breastfeed. Breastfeeding naturally lowers estrogen levels which decreases the liklihood for developing estrogen fed cancers. Knowledge is power. #breastcancerawareness #breastfeedforcancer #breastisbest
