In jail I remember I had to sleep with all my valuables under the sheets so I could hear if anyone was going through my bag. I remember having to stay up at night and sleep in the daytime because I was in a really racist jail where White people didnt like Black people, and I was the only Black person in my dorm, I wouldve been a fool to sleep around them. I remember when I took my shower we had to take turns standing by the door, one person would take a shower while someone watched the door outside, then someone else would take a shower and the other person watched the door. Life is so much of a blessing. At times Ill catch myself about to complain about something small and petty. My late teenage years and early 20s were hell at times, but Im so thankful because it made me thankful. Im extremely grateful that I had the chance to learn how to appreciate everything because it changed me forever. People wonder why I love Jesus so much. Ive seen a lot and been through a lot. We are so blessed and a lot of us dont even know it. Every single day several peoples lives are falling apart. Im not saying everything is going to be perfect, but things can be so different. Take a second and just thank God because He really deserves it.
