In keeping with yesterdays end-of-day foray into my moms record collection, I leave you today with a cognate bit of 5pm psychedelia. This is Vanilla Fudges take on the venerable Supremes chestnut, Keep Me Hanging On. If youre at all like me, you wont be certain whether this performance is offered in jest or in earnest. Also if youre like me, however, in the final analysis you wont care. I challenge you to watch this without experiencing a cognition-defying, jaw-dropping sort of divine idiocy that has you simultaneously laughing and draining off into a joyful catharsis. The one thing of which I am pretty confident after watching this performance is that people in the 60s were way, way cooler - and weirder - than we are.
