If a soldier has to kick a Pokot toddler in the crib to tell him where daddy hid the gun what chance do we have against sophisticated groups like Al Shabaab?? To remind you, with all the shootings and bombings which took place, no single person has been arrested and charged. We definitely have the wrong people incharge of security. The security machinery is not effective . I dont know how to lay an egg nor cook pilau but i know which chicken can lay eggs na if pilau ni mzuri au not. Am not an expert in security matters but i have the ability to observe , compare and opine. The security forces are using primitive and crude ways to handle complicated issues. For those who fear for their safety ,property and their survival in Mpeketoni plus those against the curfew in lamu coz of the negative effect it has on their freedom, lifestyle, economy and survival must come together and face the incompetent departments and insist that a committee be formed, which must include the locals - and demand get briefing and updates on development and what is going on. Gauging the performance of the current kenya security forces of late, the present insecurity situation is a big an uphill task for them and honestly they do not have the ideas,solution and ability to handle nor tackle . Thats the reality if only we look at the issues from the realistic point of view.
