In my 25 years as a DJ I have had a few situations where I lost a female fan only because I politely declined her idea that she should come to my hotel after the show. I once met this girl with whom I posed for a photo after the show, who then found out in which hotel I stayed, and woke me up at 7am by calling my room saying hey, im coming over!. I told her I was sleeping and that she should stop calling. The next day this girl takes to the local message boards (it was 2002) and starts slandering me how I am the rudest douchebag she ever met. I never understood how anyone could love a certain music or DJ, and then change their mind about it when its creators express (without any rudeness) that they are not going to sleep with them. Some people sadly feel they can only get behind something if they get all access, and it is their delusional sense of entitlement to this all access situation that makes them vengeful when they dont get what they expected. This week I have come across some threads about people being vengeful towards Robot Heart because they were not allowed on the bus when they wanted to. I hope these people read my post and realize that their criticism is identical to that of the people in the above paragraph. The Robot Heart experience is created for those who dance on the playa in front of its speakers. If you like this experience, you are always welcome. Hey, if you stick around, you will probably make some new friends, may even get a free pair of RH sun glasses, and when you run out of water, someone from the RH volunteers will certainly give you a bottle of water. And of course, on the other hand, if that kind of music is not your bag, then by all means try any of the other 100 sound camps instead. But to spew hate to the crew because they didnt let you on top of the bus is exactly like the girl who becomes vengeful and rejected when the DJ doesnt want to sleep with her. To these people I would like to say this: Did you ever wonder that when a random person doesnt want to sleep with you, or when a random art car with limited capacity doesnt allow you access, or when youre on a tour of the White House and you cant talk to the President, that this may have nothing to do with you personally? Do people still need to point this out to you? How old are you anyway?
