In my first academic week at West Point, I went in for a meeting - TopicsExpress

In my first academic week at West Point, I went in for a meeting with a lady who works closely with the admissions office. A heavy portion of the admissions process for any academy is through teacher recommendations. It is one of the only indications of character that they have when reviewing files. During the meeting the lady brought up my file and was astounded when she saw the calculated score of my teacher recommendations. It had been the highest she had ever seen in her 17 years working at the academy. I say this because Mr. Hatfield wrote one of the three letters of recommendation I was allowed to send, and my mother and I both agreed it was the best one, by FAR - not to discredit the other wonderful teachers that wrote one for me as well. I truly believe I would not be where I am today without Mr. Hatfield. I learned more about the real world from him than any other teacher at Eagle (excluding my mother, but she wasnt just my teacher). He helped shape my character throughout all four years of high school, and then was a huge part of me gaining acceptance into the college of my dreams. I know I speak for all students when I say Mr. Hatfields selflessness, hard work, and dedication to my education not only impacted me in my short years in high school, but will continue to impact me in the years to come. Thank you Mr. Hatfield for changing my life. And thank you to all of you who are supporting him. If your life hasnt been changed my him yet, be patient, because it will be.
