In my hometown of Kankakee Illinois, a 63 year old woman was raped. The police made an arrest. The family is very concerned this cretin will be set free, or given a light sentence, because of the history of our States Attorney letting the perps of this type of crime make deals for light sentences, or even probation. To make sure the victim is thought about for a change, they have gone to social media to put pressure on the States Attorney. The SA, and the Kankakee Police are now threatening the family, I am told by the family. How bad is it when the victims of a crime feel threatened by those who are supposed to protect us? I am in possession of a text message, I do not have permission to publish, from the author. However, I believe their story. Of course, The Daily Journal, our local paper, is ignoring the story. They are as culpable as the SA, and the perp of the crime, in the further torture of this family. Due to the threats, the family has now contacted Chicago media. I support the family in their pursuit of justice for their loved one.
