In my humble opinion, in light of the death of Robin Williams, all - TopicsExpress

In my humble opinion, in light of the death of Robin Williams, all those who ask whether those who commit suicide can enter heaven misunderstand sin. We think there are different levels of sin - killing is worse than lying, stealing small things is less serious than stealing big (or expensive) things. We try to justify our own goodness in this way. Is suicide worse than drinking oneself to death? Is it acceptable to kill a child in the womb but not once its born? Robin Williams had issues. He fought them and for years had them beat. But perhaps if hed fought them with the help of God he might be alive today. Who knows? I do know this. The Bible tells us that in Gods Eyes - all are sinners and fallen short of His glory. We have all failed to measure up and there is no level to which we can claim is acceptable to God. We are all on the outside knocking to enter and the only one who can (and is willing to) open the door - is Jesus. Id like to think that when Robin got to that door and asked to enter, it was opened for him, and he is at this very moment causing such laughter in Heaven that even God is joining in. Theologically correct? Maybe not, but....
