In my morning Bible study I have reading and pondering on the book of Isaiah. Today, I came across this passage, Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight! This prophecy was specifically written about ancient Israel, but I could not help but marvel how it mirrors todays culture in America and other western civilizations. We deem ourselves wiser than God or else we dont believe He exists ,or maybe, both. God does exist and the Bible is His inspired word, absolute truth..the only source of absolute truth. Since Roe vs. Wade we have aborted (murdered) over 55 million babies...that is 9 times as many murders as Hitler instrumented in the holocaust; we have redefined the marriage covenant which God clearly defined in Genesis and maintained throughout the rest of the scriptures; we are desperately trying to redefine a righteous, holy & just God in our own image & we, the majority of Americans, still pay Him lip service but our hearts are far from Him. These few examples of our hypocrisy (sin) represent only the tip of a huge iceberg of sins and our country is steaming on the exact course of the Titanic. May our loving God grant us repentance & revival before the inevitable collision occurs...
