In my working years I worked 3 career jobs and one of these was the West Virginia Department of Highways for 10 years or so. I worked as a Foreman my last 9 years there and one of the other Foreman I worked with on a daily basis was BILLY FAIRCLOTH. In that 10 year period of working at the WVDOH I got to know Bill rather well and on more than one occasion he took me hunting and we walked the backside of North Mountain, quite a walk for sure. Today I learned that Bill has passed away. After he retired I stopped to see him a few times and he was always the same mountain man, always talking about the next deer hunt. He pulled himself up and build a beautiful life for himself and his fine wife Betty. May Bill Rest in Peace and always may he remain on call for that next snow storm or high water here in the county. He will be missed!!!!!
