In official Washington, Florida Senator Marco Rubio has been one of the most active voices decrying the deal. On Thursday he took to the pages of the Wall Street Journal to argue that Mr Obama has offered a financial lifeline to the island without achieving any significant concessions in return. So, exactly WHAT kind of concessions does Sen. Rubio expect from a tiny, deliberately isolated island country thats been essentially flat broke ever since the demise of its financial patron, the U.S.S.R., a quarter of a century ago? The GOPs combination of loudmouthed stupidity and blowhard patriotism never ceases to amaze (and disgust) me.
