In order for favela projects to get the necessary political support for implementation, the communities very often need to build up pressure through public awareness - sometimes even through international media. The community of the Paraísopolis favela in São Paulo has therefore invited a delegation of science and technology journalists from Switzerland to introduce to them their planned civic infrastructure hub. The project was designed by Urban-Think Tank and provides social and cultural infrastructure, as well as reduces the risk of erosion and mudslides.
