In order to maintain the quality of what we do we have kept a spreadsheet for the last eight years of all the cases that weve dealt with. The spreadsheet reflects all our successes and failures and is broken down in relation to our individual case progression officers as well as having one global figure that covers the whole team. We have grown threefold in four years and we were desperate not to compromise the quality of our service as we got bigger. You have to bear in mind that these figures reflect the fact that we wont take on a case that does not have merit. This is a really important stage in the process. It does warp our figures in our favour because weve already vetted out the nonsense. Its immensely important that a lawyer does not take on a case that does not have a realistic prospect of succeeding. We are currently running at a 69.13% success rate at getting cases dropped at the police station. This is where people have been warned that they are going to be prosecuted, normally in relation to no insurance or driving without due care allegations. We intervene in the early stages and seven times out of 10 we are able to persuade the police not to take further action. (Most lawyers wont even try this) We win 88.74% of exceptional hardship argument where somebody is at risk of a six-month ban for totting up. A Ministry of Justice figure back in 2006 suggested that only 39% of exceptional hardship arguments succeed. We help 94.33% of our new driver clients avoid being revoked under the new drivers act for accumulating six or more points in their probationary period. We normally achieve this by either getting them a short discretionary ban or persuading the court that there were special reasons in relation to the offence and that they should not be given the points. We have lots of other statistics. We know some of you out there will assume that we are simply getting people off but you have to bear in mind that out of the 20 to 30 people we speak to every day we will only take on a small percentage as clients. We only take on the cases where we think there is real merit to their argument and that they have a very good prospect of succeeding. This stops people from wasting money and having unrealistic expectations.
