In our past lives sports played a huge part. Nova and I started dating after I had a conversation and explained that it was football season. If she wanted to spend time together she was going to watch the UT game. I spent that date trying to explain what a down was. Over the years sports became our norm. We traveled constantly to watch them. We rode the ups and downs of good teams and bad teams. We each had bucket lists moments attached to some sporting event. Novas was a Bark in the Park game. Any team. Any stadium. Any dog. Yesterday was our chance. WV Power. Logically my brain fighting spending $9. There have been days that would have made a difference. My illogical heart would have spent $9M to make Nova happy. We had one of the best days we have since Nova became sick. We were normal. Cheering. Laughing. Running in the rain. I thank God for that priceless moment. I thank you guys for that priceless moment. So many people have done things for us. Things that made a baseball game possible. No one will understand how thankful I am for a few hours of normal, a few moments where sick doesnt matter. Today we are paying for it. Nova is sick as hell. We expected it. She was sick hours after flying last week. Im sitting here crying. I cried last night on the way home. I have learned to live a more grateful, thankful life. Bad moments have become normal. Good moments have become magical. I cant even put my gratitude for last night into words.
