What modern man fails to realize is this truth. You could not just start a religion back in biblical times...hold meetings, collect donations, and openly practice it...The penalty was stoning and crucifixion. The chief priest approved of the religion, and it was the LAW in biblical times, and even beyond. This is one of the primary reasons Jesus was killed for speaking against Judaism, and claiming to be a God..
